The Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC):

This is a mindfulness course based on the Mindfulness Association’s (MA) Mindfulness One Year Training. It provides a unique step by step journey into a deepening experience of being present and accepting ourselves as we are. The course has a solid scientific evidence base in neuroscience and is supported by psychologists. It is consistently evaluated well by course participants who experience clear and definite changes for the good in their lives.

  • The course consists of either eight weekly sessions which are 2 & 1/4 hours long or four alternate Sunday afternoon sessions (full day on the fourth Sunday)
  • A full day of practice/retreat of mindfulness is also included between weeks six and seven as part of the eight week course. On the alternate Sunday course the last Sunday is a full day
  • Participants will be provided with a manual and audio guided exercises (included in the fee) to support their experience and learning for use in between classes
  • The course is suitable for people who are new to mindfulness as well as for those who would like to deepen their meditation or mindfulness practice

Each course is run in a group and includes:

  • a gentle introduction to different mindfulness and self-compassion practices
  • short talks
  • experiential exercises
  • sitting, lying and movement practices
  • small group discussions
  • written exercises
  • how to develop a regular practice

What will you need?

  • Yourself!
  • The time and space to attend all the sessions and to make time to practice the skills in between sessions.
  • Warm comfy clothing (layers work best)
  • A blanket and a yoga mat (if you have one, not essential)
  • Reading glasses (if you use them) as sometimes there is material to read

All the courses are practical and experiential in their design and participants will get the most out of them with regular practice between and during the sessions.
